About Ash
Hey, I’m Ash :)
I’m a certified personal trainer with a B.S. in Kinesiology from VCU, focused on strength and conditioning. For the past 8 years, I’ve worked with the general population, and over time, I’ve found a deep passion for supporting women in building strength, confidence, and connection with their bodies.
I also hold a specialization in pre- and postnatal exercise, and for the last 4 years, I’ve had the honor of supporting clients through pregnancy and their return to movement.
My path here wasn’t linear. Before finding powerlifting in 2019, I spent most of my life pursuing soccer at a competitive level. After multiple injuries, an eating disorder, and difficult team experiences, I made the hard decision to walk away from the sport. For the first time, I was without the structure and support of a team—and had to figure out what movement meant to me on my own.
That journey eventually led me to a barbell at VCU. What started as uncertainty quickly turned into something more when I found the powerlifting community. That experience shifted everything—I changed my degree path, pursued an internship, and began building a career in coaching that ultimately led to the creation of Urban Village.
Every chapter—every challenge, every lesson, every person I’ve worked with—has shaped the way I coach today.
Urban Village is the culmination of that journey, and just the beginning of something even bigger.
